Why BeautyCounter

My journey to becoming an independent consultant for BeautyCounter is personal. After several years of dealing with Lyme disease, my autoimmune system became compromised. Changes in eating were a natural next step. What I didn’t really think about were the products that I was using on my skin. I had not stopped to consider the harmful chemicals and ingredients in our every day skin and beauty products.

Adding to the mix, I ended up with really dry skin and acne, and my family members had very sensitive skin. I had started to question the sunblock when it became clear was damaging our ecosystems. I figured it couldn’t be good for us if it was impacting coral reefs.

With Lyme and autoimmune issues, the last thing I wanted to do was use hormone disrupting products or known cancer causing ingredients on my family’s skin. Luckily, I learned about BeautyCounter from my sister’s friend and the Countermatch line of skin care became an instant favorite. After the line of reef-friendly sunscreen was unveiled, I was hooked and wanted to share these products with everyone.

BeautyCounter does not compromise on safety or performance. I have been extremely satisfied with all of the products I have used so far. I love that the company didn’t rush to get a mascara on the product line until completely satisfied with safety and performance. (And now I really love my mascara, that doesn’t make my eyes itch.) I am very excited to be a BeautyCounter independent consultant and I am proud to be connected to a company that is committed to educating people about safer products, fighting for legislative change to protect all people from harmful ingredients and formulating high performing products.
